Meet our Pastor – Bob Undercuffler 

Pencader Presbyterian Church called Bob as pastor and he began his ministry with us January 1, 2009.  Prior to that time, Bob was Interim pastor at Hanover Presbyterian Church in Wilmington from 2006-2008. He had been the Installed pastor at Hanover from 1982-1987.  

From 1988 - 2004 Bob was Vice President of Development for Ohio for the Buckhorn Children’s Center/Presbyterian Child Welfare Agency of Buckhorn, Kentucky.  During his 17 years in that position he did mission interpretation for the Children’s Center, found property in central Ohio for a satellite Buckhorn Children’s Center, and raised money and volunteer support to build, equip and staff the Ohio campus. Bob retired as Chief Development Officer in 2004.   

In April 2005, Bob and his wife Pat moved back to Wilmington to be near their two daughters, Beth and Karen and three grandchildren, Darren, Levi and Leandra.  Their son Phil and wife Claire have twin daughters, Kate and ZoĆ«.  They live in Madrid, New Mexico.  

Bob graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1962. He was pastor of congregations in Buckhorn and Louisville, Kentucky, and Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Texas and Northminster Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

 

 

Meet Dee Fell – Director of Music and Pianist

Pencader welcomed Doreen (Dee) Fell as Director of Music and pianist in July 2009. Dee, a Newark native, has studied piano since the age of four. Her first teacher was her mother, Marion Fernandez who was also the Director of Children's Music at Kingswood Methodist Church of Newark.  Dee continued her musical studies with the areas best educators including Abrahsa Borodsky, Donald Carter, Ph.D. James Kidd, Ph.D. and jazz studies with John Sutherland.  An applied piano major at the University of Delaware, Dee currently studies with Oleg Maslov, Ph.D, of Temple University.   

 
Dee began accompanying local choirs at 13 and has performed in the “pit”  for local theatre groups, performance for ballet studios, classical and cabaret solo and ensemble recitals.  Dee has collaborated with "Life Songs" a not-for profit fundraiser and with Augustine Mercante in concerts for charities around the world including "Water for Life' and "The Fistula Hospitals" in South Africa. She continues to play in local community events while expanding her role in music ministry. Dee was West Presbyterian Church's pianist in 1997 and in 2001 she was named Director of Music, a position she held until April 2009 when West Church closed. Dee is the mother of two children and lives in Wilmington.
